Mochi meat roll
Ingredients (for 6 pieces)
- Pork (for shabu-shabu)…6 pieces
- Cut mochi…3 pieces
- Soy sauce... 1 tablespoon
- Sugar…1 tablespoons
- Sake…1 tbsp
Method
Cut the cut mochi in half lengthwise, wrap it around pork, cover with a little oil, and bake.
Once lightly browned, turn the heat down to low, add the seasonings, and stir until the rice cake is soft.

Grilled rice cake with green onions
Ingredients (for 3 people)
- Cut mochi…6 pieces
- Green onion…1 small
- Bonito flakes…appropriate amount
- Dressing, ponzu sauce, etc.
Method
Slice the green onions diagonally, spread the cut mochi in a frying pan with sesame oil, and top with plenty of chopped green onions.
Cover and bake until the bottom is crispy and the inside is soft, then add your favorite seasonings such as Chinese dressing or ponzu sauce.

If you want the rice cake to be crispy, you can make the rice cake half as thin.
mochi french toast
Ingredients (for 1-2 people)
- Cut mochi…1 pieces
- Bread (8 slices)…2 slices
- 1 eggs
- Milk…150cc
- Sugar…2 tablespoons
- Butter…appropriate amount
Method
Add milk and sugar to the beaten eggs to make an egg wash.
Cut the mochi in half, place it on a piece of bread, dip it in the egg mixture, and then dip the other piece in as well.
Heat the butter in a frying pan, cover with a lid, fry the two pieces on both sides, stack them on top of each other, and it's done.
Chewy pancakes
Ingredients (for 3 sheets)
- Cut mochi…1 pieces
- Pancake mix…1 bag (150g)
- 1 eggs
- Milk…100cc
- Butter…appropriate amount
Method
Mix the pancake mix, eggs, and milk, then add the rice cake that was softened in the microwave.
Melt the butter in a frying pan, fry both sides, and it's done.

Drizzle with maple syrup if desired.
Melting Kinako Mochi
Ingredients (for 2 people)
- Cut mochi…2 pieces
- Kinako...1 tablespoon
- Sugar…1 tablespoons
- Salt ... a little
Method
Mix soybean flour, sugar and salt. Place the mochi in a bowl, fill with water until the mochi is covered, and heat in the microwave for about 2 and a half minutes. (until it becomes thick)
Once mixed with soybean flour, it is completed.

Just add it to water and it becomes surprisingly smooth. If you adjust the time, you can also make hard kinako mochi.
