Third column in a series.
This time, let's go to Yamanashi's popular tourist spot "Lake Yamanaka"!
Lake Yamanaka is where you'll want to go camping, BBQ, walking along the lakeside, and more as Golden Week approaches.
There are so many shops along the lakeside that it can be difficult to decide where to go.
This time, I went to a popular activity along the lakeside and a newly opened shop that was rumored to be open♪
Today was the day I had decided to enjoy activities with Nao-chan!
...Yes, today we will ride the amphibious bus "YAMANAKAKO no KABA" which is very popular among tourists from overseas and outside the prefecture who come to Lake Yamanaka ♡
Nao-chan and I have never ridden one before, this is the first time in our lives!!
Let's head out for an exciting experience!
It takes about an hour and a half by car from the center of Kofu, and from the Tokyo area, it takes about 1 minutes to reach Lake Yamanaka from Otsuki JCT. I found the KABA boarding area right from the lakeside!
KABA is an amphibious bus that is still rare in Japan, and you can enjoy the extraordinary experience of diving from land into a lake.
Children under 4 years old can also ride. In that case, you will need to wear a life jacket, and they will lend you one for free, so don't worry.
KABA started after all the guests shouted “Go!” to “Let’s~” by the leader of the expedition team!
On the way to the lakeside, there are turns, large trees towering over them, and a thrilling action experience where the driver shows off his skills and the entire bus shakes.
After overcoming many obstacles, we landed at Lake Yamanaka!
All the customers were so excited to see the water splash at this timing...!!
After landing on the water, we had a great time learning about the history of Lake Yamanaka, trivia related to the boarding date, and quizzes that both children and adults could enjoy.
The captain who narrated the story kept me excited and I enjoyed it from start to finish ♡
Unfortunately, the weather was bad when we went out, but on a sunny day, you can see Mt. Fuji like this, so if you come to Lake Yamanaka, you should definitely give it a try...!!
When I safely returned from the lake to land and arrived at the bus stop, the photo I had taken before getting on the bus was completed!
Both nao-chan and I were photographed with big smiles on our faces, as if to say, “THE tourists!”, so I bought this as a commemoration (lol)
It was so much fun to go back to my childhood ♪
After getting on the KABA bus, we, as gluttons, made a lot of noise and got hungry...
When I was searching for "Where should I go?", I found a store nearby that I was interested in!
ZEIT BAKERY CAFE just opened in March 2024.
From hard breads to open sandwich lunch menus, there is a rich lineup, and just looking at it will make you hungry.
After much deliberation, momo chose the ``Tomato & Basil Open Sandwich Set,'' and nao-chan chose the ``Duck Croissant Sandwich.''
Nao-chan had a single item, but apparently for an additional 100 yen you can get a salad and soup as a set, so it was a quick set (lol)
The croissant sandwich chosen by nao is so plentiful that you can even see the duck and other toppings♡
You can't beat the fact that you can get such high-quality soup and salad in a set for just 100 yen each!
``It was a little chilly because I was eating on the terrace, but this soup warmed my body and soul,'' said Nao.
“Tomato & Basil Open Sandwich Set” is a classic combination of mozzarella and tomato that is already delicious even before you eat it!
It's easy to eat on one plate, so it looks good as a morning plate.
Another great thing about it is that you can enjoy it in a variety of ways, such as spreading cream cheese on the other bread, eating it with salad, or dipping it in soup.
Sigh, my stomach is full and I'm very satisfied.
But but.
The two foodies couldn't give up on the delicious-looking breads in the showcase, so they ended up ordering a lot of takeout♡ (lol)
Among them, the owner's recommended Noarezan is a hard bread that is very delicious♪
It's filled with lots of nuts and dried fruits and is very filling.
We even ordered drinks for the way home. (LOL) "Matcha Espresso Latte" is also known as military latte, and its brown and green color makes it look great in photos.
As for the taste, I thought it had a gentle scent of matcha, but the espresso gave it a strong bitterness and it was delicious! Be sure to stir well and drink.
You can eat bread by the lake while looking at Lake Yamanaka, or you can relax and spend time at ZEIT BAKERY CAFE.
There are many restaurants along Lake Yamanaka that are reputed to be delicious, so you might be confused about where to go, but please use this food diary as a reference and enjoy!
