~ A story woven from pieces of the sea

〇Month x Sun

My favorite things have remained the same ever since I was a child.

The sea breeze caressing your cheeks, the lapping of waves, the scorching summer sun, the endless clear turquoise blue, and the refreshing scent of lemon that evokes the richness of the earth.

Yes, I love summer and the beach.

Summer in Yamanashi is too hot, and there's no sea.

However, surrounded by mountains, there is one place where you can feel like you are on the seashore.

"Town of Sea Breeze Lemons."

This is a general goods store lined with handmade objects made from a variety of natural materials.

The concept is "an oasis of the sea in the mountains," and is said to be inspired by the image of a town overlooked from the hills of the Adriatic Sea where lemons grow.

"This hideaway, created in a place far from the sea by a sea fairy who fell in love with the mountains," unfolds the worldview of "a small, beautiful kingdom floating on the blue waves of the Adriatic Sea, where sea fairies live."

The creation of the works begins with finding pieces of seawater that wash up on the shores of Hayama.

Shells, sea glass, driftwood, stones, etc. The blue of the sea glass stands out in the circus tent, with thin shells on the roof...

Using old trees and nails from the Yatsugatake Mountains, this cute house has been completed. How beautiful the art woven by nature is.

"Not only are they beautiful to look at and touch, but the healing vibrations they produce are something that humans cannot create. The objects made from pieces of the sea will bring a breath of fresh air to mountain life and give visitors a sense of the exotic," says artist Mac Funamizu.

"There are shells in sizes I've never seen before, cute driftwood and stones, and it's fun to be able to work with materials that are all one-of-a-kind," says Mac.

If I were a fairy, I wonder if I could live in a house like this.

When I woke up, I found myself standing on a lemon hill floating in the distant sea.

Surrounded by your favorite sea breeze, the sound of waves, and the scent of lemon.

I'll tell you the story of how I got lost in the "Town of Shiokaze Lemons" next time...
