My parents' house has a very large garden. On weekends, I spent more time in the garden than inside the house.

My father's hobby is gardening. In addition to seasonal flowers, he grew all kinds of vegetables and fruits, including cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplants, figs, strawberries, and loquats.

When I was young, I had no interest in flowers, vegetables, or fruits, but I loved the time when my family would gather together to eat in the garden after helping with the weeding.

Special moments in everyday life are much more exciting than going out somewhere far away...

As an adult, I started living alone in an apartment, got married and lived in an apartment, and to this day I have continued to live without a garden.

Suddenly, there is a place that reminds me of that sparkling, ordinary time when I was young that made my heart race.

"Niwa to ki terrace" at Lake Kawaguchi.

This green shop was created by Estina Kawaguchiko, a company that handles exterior design and landscaping, but what's great about it is that you can do more than just buy flower seedlings and ornamental plants.

Just as the store name ``niwa to ki'' (garden and trees/garden time) suggests, you can imagine a scene with a garden and trees, and the various times and scenes spent there.

Along with flowers and greenery, not only gardening goods but also tasteful household goods selected by the owner are laid out together, allowing you to see a glimpse of everyday life.

Tulips, with their lovely round shape that can be gently wrapped in your hands, are synonymous with flowers that bloom in spring.

Next year as well, colorful tulips will be blooming in my parents' garden, signaling the arrival of spring.

Brightly colored flowers are nice, but what's exciting right now are plants with dark nuanced colors.

I am fascinated by the texture of the metallic silver leaves of Pilea Ellen, and the chic colokia with grayish leaves on winding wire-like branches will move my heart.

Even if you don't have a garden, by decorating pots and vases with colors and materials that match the plants, you can add color to your space and inject a sense of calm into your ordinary life.

Unlike when I was young, when I had no interest in plants or gardening, I now know that the little impressions I get while taking care of my plants every day can be the nutrients that help me get through a hectic day.

I wonder if my elderly father is still actively gardening today.

While reminiscing about the ordinary, yet most sparkling memories of my family spending time in the garden.
