Living tools and coffee shop Yamaichi
~Marriage that colors everyday life~
〇Month x Sun
Before I knew it, I no longer cared about the eyes around me
I no longer need to force myself to stretch
Now that I have become a genuine “adult” both physically and mentally, I am able to enjoy being alone in a natural way.
A place where I stop by alone,
"Living tools and coffee shop Yamaichi".
Only discreet signage in one room of the apartment.
Small shops and cafes that are hard to find if you don't know them.
I love this store, so I want many people to know about it, but I really want it to be my secret hideaway.
Inside the store, the owner Saori Sakamoto has carefully selected tableware by artists from all over the country, as well as tools that have been used for a long time, so you can enjoy a coffee while shopping.
When I come across a new tableware, I get excited about what kind of food to serve, and I want to come up with recipes that suit the tableware.
For me, the tableware is like a new canvas that arouses the imagination of unseen dishes.
At first, it didn't catch my eye, but after using it at the cafe, I gradually realized how good it was, and eventually I wanted it irresistibly.
One of them is this wooden plate by Katsuya Matsumoto.
Mr. Sakamoto told me that it is easy to use on a daily basis because it is made with a technique that makes iron and wood react and color, and the surface is glass-coated.
The indescribable shade of gray and this unique cold feeling...
So that's it.
My favorite lemon cake is often served in this rim dish.
I wonder how many times I ate this lemon cake before I realized, "I like the coldness of iron, which is the opposite of the warmth of wood."
Sakamoto's lemon cake is made with plenty of lemon peel and juice, and sour cream is kneaded into the dough.
This cake, which is both refreshing and rich, is best suited to this cool wooden plate.
And.
As a coffee lover, I succumb to the temptation of juice when I come here.
This season is plum.
The syrup, made by hand from plums harvested in the field, has just the right amount of sourness and the sweetness and umami of the plums.
“Taking care of things, repairing them from time to time, and having a long relationship with your favorite pottery will make your life more enjoyable and enriching,” says the Kintsugi workshop.
I think I really like Mr. Sakamoto.
Beautiful sweets from a famous pastry chef are good, but
Like the soft spring sunshine, she carefully handcrafts sweets with her beautiful white hands and puts them in a carefully selected container.
I would go to Yamaichi because I want to make this kind of moment a part of my daily life.
"Sweets that don't grow taller that you want to eat every day"
A vessel that increases love by continuing to use it every day.
A heart-throbbing marriage of everyday life.
