Fumiko Gomi, who runs the Mokushizu Acupuncture and Moxibustion Center in Asahi, Kofu City with her husband, plans various art events and is energetically active.

Born to the eldest daughter of Gomi Shoyu Co., Ltd., when she was a student, Miso-ya did not succeed and went on the path of art. After studying abroad in Hungary and working as a Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteer in South America, I arrived at ...

This time, we will take a closer look at the charm of Fumiko Gomi, a special woman who enjoys such a wit-rich life.

Anyway, it's bright and powerful. The driving force is rebellion!

When I met him five years ago, Mr. Gomi was a wild locker.

However, what came out through Moxie's beautiful indigo curtain was a soft mom of a XNUMX-month-old baby, far from such an image.

"I hate Japan, I hate being surrounded by the sea, so I hate fish ... It was such an outlaw, but after all Japan has advanced medical care and an environment for raising children ... So now I'm in Yamanashi. I am grateful and respectful of Japan. "

The world of art led by "destruction"

Mr. Gomi's encounter with art was that his dissatisfaction with adolescent society and unconvinced anger were dissipated in his works during art classes. The theme is "destruction".I woke up to art when my teacher found it interesting, and studied abroad in Hungary at high school.

There, he was recognized by a stained glass teacher and entered the world of handicrafts. After graduating, he entered an art university in Okinawa and majored in traditional Japanese craft textiles. We seek rooted art in our lives, not works in museums.

After that, he performed music activities while working as an event management staff at a contemporary art space in Tokyo (Asahi Art Square in Asakusa), applied for the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers in 2011, and worked as a local art teacher in Belize, South America for two and a half years. To do.

What an esprit career this alone is!

"Anyway, my thoughts are simple (laughs). I don't like Japan surrounded by the sea when studying in Hungary, so let's go to a country surrounded by land. So Hungary (laughs). Anyway, what I'm good at and what I like I just chose it because I wanted to. "

Folk songs change the days in Belize!

Punta Gorda, XNUMX hours by bus from the capital of Belize.

Having the task of creating an art curriculum, the foreign land that landed was a world that was the exact opposite of Japanese values.

"Berry's is slow, laid-back, and appropriate is aesthetics. I thought I was a Japanese outlaw, but at Belize I was the Japanese. The harder I worked, the more my children were separated. I'm Kun. "

It was only one folk song that changed the position of Mr. Gomi.

Impressed by the local folk songs that are closely related to daily life, he desperately listened to the melody and practiced pronunciation while there were no scores or lyrics.

"When I sang it on my guitar, I was quickly called to a live house or school ..." A Chinese girl singing Belize folk songs "became famous."

Taking this opportunity, the distance between the locals and children was shortened at once, and it became possible to relax the strength of the shoulders and live.

The power of music ... it must be wonderful across borders. However, what moved the locals was probably Gomi's sincerity and enthusiasm, which he learned through music and wanted to breathe and feel in the same way.

The road to an acupuncturist taught by Berry's

Mr. Gomi said that his experience at Belize had a great influence on him and he decided to choose his career as an acupuncturist.

"I broke my body locally and it was really hard to bother many people. I liked that land, but first I realized that my body was capital. I can't do anything unless I'm healthy."

The native American grandmother I met there said, "GOMI is also a person on this side (healing side)", and I returned to Japan to qualify as an acupuncturist.

After attending a vocational school and successfully obtaining a qualification, I began to live the life I envisioned, including marriage and childbirth.

New approach to art

In 2013, Mr. Gomi launched the Kofu no Machi Arts Festival with the theme of "Someone's daily life is someone's miracle."

It attracted a lot of attention as the first contemporary art festival set in Kofu, where artists' works were displayed in vacant stores in the city of Kofu to show the city from a different perspective.

"This is also a simple opportunity! I don't have a place to show off the works of my friend artists, so it's a waste to see it! I want everyone to see it."

Currently, besides an acupuncturist, he has set up a hohosha, which plans and manages art events, with Mr. Harusui Horikiri, the representative, and is actively working.

Mr. Gomi is happy that the people in the center of Kofu feel the power of art and are enthusiastic about it.

In September, we are planning a "flowing out" exhibition using a bathtub and a dressing room, and a "Let's dye indigo" project to apply indigo dyeing to the Ginza-dori shopping street, set in the former public bath "Takenoyu". ..

"The concept is to apply LOVE and indigo to dye Ginza-dori in love and indigo. I want everyone to come and see it."

A revolution to make society happy

"I'm still dissatisfied with society, but I've found another approach to changing society."

Health and what I like is a single piece of paper.

If you are not healthy, you cannot do what you like.

If you do what you like, you can stay healthy.

"If your body is healthy and healthy, you will be mysteriously uplifted, you will be able to make correct decisions, and you will be healthy and happy. If the number of such people increases, the world will surely be happier!

That's why I treat and increase the number of healthy people as much as possible!

This is a revolution in me (laughs)! "

A new challenge as a revolutionary, Fumiko Gomi, has already begun.

Veggie Cafe Flunt KOFU

I'm not vegan, but I like vegetarian food because the shops I used to go to when I was in Belize and the shops I worked part-time when I was a student of acupuncture and moxibustion were vegan restaurants.

Fluunt is a solid vegan, so there are some snacks that are perfect for beer.Since there is no animal protein, it is recommended because it is hard to lean on the stomach even if you eat a lot ♪
