[Yumura Kinseiken Café / Kofu City] This Japanese confectionery shop's cream puffs are so delicious they're a big hit! They also have a variety of other menu items.
Yumura Kinseiken Café is a popular Japanese cafe located at the entrance to Yumura Onsen, a hot spring resort town in Kofu that is filled with retro charm. Cream puffs will be added to the menu from January 15, 2026, and we heard that they are absolutely delicious, so we immediately did some research!

Yumura Kinseiken Café is located at the entrance to Shingen no Yu Yumura Onsen. It is well-known for its original sweets made with rice cakes and bean paste made with Hakushu's famous water, and from January 15, 2026, it has added cream puffs to its menu. What is it like to have a cream puff from a Japanese confectionery shop?

The concept is "Enjoy a 'soft cream' in a hot spring town!" Inspired by the image of "milk after a bath," they were particular about creating a milky texture like freshly squeezed milk. Kiyosato Milk Plant's soft cream was already on the menu, but they thought it would be a waste to just have it that way! So they developed this.

The cream, custard and choux pastry are made with plenty of milk made with a non-homogenized method at Kiyosato Milk Plant, which gives it a natural richness, sweetness and flavor similar to that of freshly squeezed milk. "Shiyu Cream" is made with carefully selected ingredients, including free-range eggs from Kurofuji Farm in the Yatsugatake Mountains and the famous water of Hakushu, and the cream is squeezed on the spot after each order is placed.

The cream is so smooth and melt-in-your-mouth it's practically drinkable! It has a strong milky feel, and the creamy texture and sweetness of the milk harmonizes with the rich flavor of the eggs, making for an exquisite cream. The choux pastry is a thin, crunchy cookie choux pastry, which creates a wonderful contrast with the cream.

You can also enjoy various arrangement menus, such as "Choux Soft Cream," which is a bold choux pastry filled with Kiyosato Milk Plant soft cream, "Choux Anko," which is a type of choux pastry that is unique to Japanese confectionery shops and adds red bean paste, and even a "Special Set" that includes all of Kinseiken's signature menu items!

This luxurious set includes freshly grilled, fluffy mitarashi dango dumplings and melt-in-your-mouth fresh Shingen mochi, along with a fruity aroma and a silky moist texture, all baked using only egg whites.

"Shiyu Cream" has been born as a new specialty of the hot spring town.
They are planning to create a second and third set of modified menu items, so I'll definitely have to keep going.
