[patisserie épi / Fujiyoshida City] A cake shop run by a husband and wife pastry chef team will open in Fujiyoshida City on December 2024, 12

Patisserie épi is a small cake shop that opened in Fujiyoshida City on December 2024, 12.
Epi means "ear of wheat" in French, and it is said that the name was created with the hope that "these sweets will bring a smile to people's faces and bring happiness to many people."

This shop is run by the Wada couple, who are pastry chefs. If you look closely at the shop's logo, you'll see a deer antler shaped like a whisk, and Mount Fuji!
Apparently they decided on this logo because there are deer in Fujiyoshida. The uniform hats also have deer designs on them, which is just too cute!

The showcase is packed with delicious looking cakes. They are not too sweet, and have a refreshing, easy-to-eat taste that makes you want to eat one and then another.

They also always have a lineup of birthday cakes, and you can even purchase them on the day, which is great.
In addition to shortcake and chocolate decorations, there is also the small and affordable "Paris Brest" for 1,800 yen! This pastry was born in Paris and is one of my favorite cakes. The fragrant ring choux is filled with sponge cake, custard, fresh cream, and banana, so children will love it too.

Our top recommendation is "Oi Hojichan," made using Harukiya's fragrant roasted green tea and garnished with black beans.
The panna cotta has a light roasted green tea aroma and a smooth texture that will have you enchanted with just one bite. It is a proud product that incorporates Japanese elements, unique to Wada-san, who also loves Japanese sweets.

Adding caramel from a dropper adds a bitter accent for a more mature taste. The cookies used for decoration are also egg-free, making it popular with people of all ages and genders.

The gorgeous-looking "Strawberry Tart" is filled with a rich, sweet and fragrant cream of custard and almond cream on a crispy tart crust. The harmony with the sweet and sour taste of the strawberries is exquisite.

And... what's surprising is this Mont Blanc "Fuji no Mori"! The crispy pie crust is light and finished with sponge, custard, chestnut, fresh cream, and Japanese chestnut cream. The delicate balance that brings out the flavor of each is truly impressive. The texture and aroma of the nuts add an accent, making it easy to eat!
Ah, I want to eat one more...
