A gluten-free takeaway sweets specialty store, "Koyu", will open in Fujiyoshida City on October 2024, 10! It is a small shop located in a quiet residential area near Kawaguchiko Station.

Their signature products include tofu dumplings with cute Mt. Fuji branded on them, tofu dumpling inari, and rice flour pound cake.

The store's name "Koyuzu" was taken from the name of the owner, Kayu Tsuchihashi. It was named with the hope that "like the scent of yuzu, we hope to bring healing to the hearts of Japanese people and be loved for a long time."

The store is lined with handmade gluten-free sweets, which were inspired by the owner's own experience of experiencing gluten-related discomfort.

The canelés and pound cakes are made with 100% rice flour. The semi-baked canelés are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a slightly bitter taste and exquisite texture, making it hard to believe they are made with rice flour. The rich chocolate pound cake, made with plenty of butter and cane sugar, is a must-try for chocolate lovers.

The top recommendation is of course these dumplings. It is a special recipe by Kaori that was perfected after much trial and error, making use of the moisture in tofu. You will be captivated by the unique chewy and fluffy texture. The elegant sweet and spicy taste of the mitarashi sauce is also great!

The "inari sushi" which uses three tofu balls instead of rice is quite a change of pace. It's not too sweet or too salty, and has a refined taste. As the broth overflows in your mouth, the soft and chewy tofu balls peek out.

How about some carefully hand-dripped dark roast coffee to go with your Japanese or Western sweets? It has a low acidity, making it easy for anyone to drink.

"Koyu" has already gained many repeat customers, especially locals.
