President Hideki Imamura has always loved living creatures and had always wanted to work with them, when he discovered shrimp fishing in Thailand on social media. He was attracted to shrimp ponds and after eight years he became the first to successfully cultivate giant river prawns, which are said to be difficult to farm.
This is the first fishing pond in Japan for the precious Giant River Prawns.
From shrimp fishing in the fishing pond to the delicious menu at the restaurant next door, you can enjoy plenty of shrimp. This time, I, K, a shrimp-loving editor, actually tried it out!
After you have placed your order at the counter and paid, you can head to the fishing pond. There are always 200 shrimp in the pond, ranging in size from 12-3cm to around 45cm.
The staff will teach you how to use the fishing rod, how to attach bait, and other tips, so even beginners can feel at ease! After that, all you have to do is drop the rod into the fishing pond and wait within the one-hour time limit. I can feel the shrimp nibbling at the bait, but they just don't bite! It's a luxury food, as you would expect...
About 30 minutes after we started fishing, Mr. I from the video team caught one! This is exciting! After waiting for a few minutes, forgetting the heat, we felt a pull and finally caught a big shrimp! It's great to catch a fish! But an hour passed in the blink of an eye, and we ended up with two.
After enjoying fishing, you can eat the giant river prawns you caught, which are carefully grilled with salt on the grill next to you.
I was surprised by the texture after one bite. It had a firm texture and was plump! The umami and sweetness were condensed into a very rich taste. As a shrimp lover, I couldn't resist it. It also contains three times as much shrimp paste as usual, so it's rich in flavor and very creamy.
The adjacent food space also offers a lineup of exquisite dishes made with carefully selected shrimp and crab. The popular dish, "Garlic Shrimp," uses a type of shrimp called "Sea Dragon." It's very soft, so you can eat it with the shell on. It also comes with shrimp pilaf, potatoes, and side dishes made with vegetables grown by the staff, so it's very filling.
In addition, this "Ebikatsu Burger" has chunky shrimp instead of mashed shrimp, giving it a fun texture. The bread and tartar sauce used in a certain luxury hotel were created to go with the shrimp cutlet, bringing out the flavor of the ingredients. It is also available for takeout only, so you can casually drop in and eat.
