Wanpakudo, a small pie and quiche shop that opened on April 2024, 4 in Takekawa-cho, Hokuto City, is a pastry shop directly operated by the peach and grape farm, Yatsugatake Wanpaku Farm.

The store mainly serves freshly baked pies and quiches, but also has a small selection of bread. "Quiche may not be very familiar to people yet, but we want people to feel free to stop by our store as if they were stopping by a bakery every day," says owner Kubota.

The quiche, made with a perfectly baked, light pie crust and a unique blend of milk, eggs, and fresh cream, is available in a variety of flavors that change every week, with one standard staple. The flavor and aroma of butter is carefully selected, and each flavor is customized with an original combination to bring out the individuality of the taste, so the possibilities are endless!

What's more, the hand-folded pie is delicious, made in a way that is different from quiche! The 432 layers of carefully folded pie dough create a fluffy and crispy texture that gives off an incredibly delicate flavor.
Now, they also offer peach pie, made with firm peaches that only peach farmers can offer, and topped with cream cheese! You can enjoy the luxurious duet of the refreshing and juicy taste of peach and the crispy pie filling.

The apple pie and meat pie are also must-try items, carefully temperature-controlled to create fluffy, dense layers. The apple filling, made with apples from Nagano Prefecture, has a beautiful natural pink color and is sweet and sour, making it perfect for eating in the summer. The meat pie, which has a nostalgic taste, is filled with plenty of domestically produced ground beef and is very filling, making it the perfect snack.

The owner loves butter chicken curry, and the resulting homemade curry bread is only available on Saturdays. The crunchy fried bread is paired with the creamy, mellow butter chicken curry, which is also fruity with peach chutney, making it easy to eat with its mild spiciness.
Sales are suspended during peach season, but after resumption, pork and butter chicken curry will be available, one type each every two weeks, so be sure to check it out.
