Cirque is a complex that was renovated from the former Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries offices in Shiozawa, Koshu City, and opened on July 2024, 7.
Although it looks like a school, on weekends it becomes a hot topic among locals as a bookstore and select shops open there and events are held there.

Originally opened as a warehouse for the "Hakko Department" store in Shimokitazawa, it has become home to many wonderful bookstores and fashionable clothing stores. I decided to take a look at "Fukukata", a small book and wine store on the second floor.

This hidden bookstore quietly opens on the second and fourth Saturday of every month. It stocks about 2 books and 4-300 types of wine, both from overseas and Yamanashi, all of which are the owner's favorites.
"It's a small bookstore of 5.5 tatami mats, or 3 tsubo, so I want people to feel like they're coming to relax in my room and study on the weekend," says Suzuki, the store owner. The lineup includes science fiction, poetry, modern literature, non-fiction, essays, picture books, and a few manga.

It's fun to look for books in a space filled with Suzuki's thoughts: "I'd be happy if I could make encounters that you can't find in larger bookstores and that you can only find here."
Encounters with books are also a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The book I picked up by chance was probably not a coincidence, but a necessity, and I think it was a book that I should read now. The probability of meeting again in a year is low, and even if I come across the same book, I may not pick it up, or it may no longer be necessary.
Before you say, "I don't have time to read books," why not try visiting a bookstore like this? I'm sure you'll find something unexpected.

Garage No. 3..5 is a garage and shop run by Whiteley & Sons that opens irregularly at numbers 6, 3, and 5.6 in front of the parking lot. It is a shop that makes life more enjoyable, focusing on outdoor activities.

Centered around its own brand, Mannenrou, the company develops clothing suitable for a wide variety of outdoor activities, from camping, fishing, hiking, and running to farm work.

For example, the pants have excellent functionality, being able to use them in an emergency by undoing the drawstring, and being able to put small items for farm work in the pockets on the outside. The products are easy to move in, and made with high-quality materials, so they are also very fashionable.

Right in front of Cirque is a small direct sales store called "Kurashi no Atelier" that sells fresh, locally grown vegetables. It is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9:30 to 11:00 and 15:00 to 17:00, so if it's open, be sure to stop by.
