On December 2023, 12, “Colorful Yushoku Japanese Musical Instruments” will open in Isawacho, Fuefuki City. It's already very popular with local customers as it offers a set lunch menu during the day and an izakaya restaurant at night, where you can enjoy mainly Japanese cuisine!

This is a homely restaurant run by a mother, daughter, and son. The help is led by a mother who loves cooking and her daughter, led by her son who has experience cooking Japanese and kaiseki cuisine in Tokyo.
The interior of the store creates a modern Japanese atmosphere with Japanese accessories such as the owner's mother's collection, Japanese umbrellas, and uniquely designed sliding doors and colorful shoji screens chosen by the whole family.
By the way, the name ``Wagakki'' comes from the meaning ``I want you to enjoy Japanese taste'' and ``my favorite Japanese utensils.''

I was also curious about the izakaya menu, but since it was noon on the day of the interview, I went for lunch. Among the attractive menu items such as sashimi, fried oysters, and tempura, I was drawn to the word that they only serve five meals a day, so I decided to try the sashimi set meal.

The set meal has arrived, with luxurious sashimi such as tuna, shrimp, and squid as the main dish, and garnishes such as salad and stews!

For the rice, we use glossy North American pears from Hokuto City. The standard fresh sashimi is tuna, but you can enjoy a variety of different types of sashimi that change daily. The simmered dishes served as garnishes have a gentle homey taste. Homemade pickles made with seasonal local vegetables are also perfect for a break from chopsticks ♡ On the day of the interview, we had beet-pickled radish and pickled Chinese cabbage, and the texture and just the right amount of salt were addictive.

At night, it transforms into a pub. You can enjoy fried foods that go well with alcohol, single dishes, and main dishes for lunch sets.
Being able to enjoy such delicious set meals at this place is sure to be a repeat visit!
